SoberLife (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, complete onboarding, or use app features. This includes your name, username, email address, sobriety date, substance type, mood logs, journal reflections, daily task completions, and money-saved tracking.
If you use social features, we also collect the content you post — community posts, comments, and challenge activity — and your interactions with other users, including accountability partner connections and group hangout participation.
We do not collect sensitive health information beyond what you voluntarily enter into the app.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
SoberLife does not track your location in the background. Location is only collected when you actively choose to share a one-time location ping — for example, during Group Hangout Mode. That ping is visible only to the specific group or partner you shared it with, and is not stored for continuous tracking. We request only “While Using the App” access.
Posts, comments, and challenge activity you share in community features are visible to other users of the app, as scoped by the feature (public community, private group, or accountability partner).
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. All text is filtered automatically before it is stored. Any user can report a post, comment, or reply, and can block another user from Settings → Blocked Users or directly from their content. Reported content is hidden from the reporter immediately, hidden from everyone once it reaches our report threshold, and reviewed by us within 24 hours. Accounts that post objectionable content may be removed.
Accountability partner and group features share your check-in status, streaks, urge alerts, and designated-driver status with the specific people you’ve connected with — not with the public.
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account Actions → Delete Account.
Deleting removes your profile, sobriety and streak history, mood and reflection logs, tasks, drink logs, onboarding data, achievements, group memberships, accountability partnership, blocked-user list, and the posts and comments you have written. Your reserved email address and username are released so they can be used again.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription. You must cancel that separately through your Apple ID settings.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data. To exercise these rights, use the settings in the app or contact us at soberlifesupport@gmail.com.
SoberLife is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the minimum age stated in our Terms of Use. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
